DBT Skills for Teens

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment that has been scientifically proven to help teens:

1) Develop a healthy relationship with their emotions, giving them the space and tools to respond effectively instead of react explosively.

2) Learn and practice actual strategies to deal with challenges, so they can take self-harm and other destructive behaviors off the table.

3) Build their own plan for self-care so they can begin to see a problem coming and cope with it effectively, instead of constantly being in crisis.

4) Learn and practice communicating their needs clearly and respectfully so that they feel loved, seen, and supported in all their relationships, instead of feeling rejected, hurt, and victimized by those around them.

Who It’s For

If your teen is highly sensitive, they might struggle calming down, get upset too easily, and experience difficulty in their relationships.

You might feel overwhelmed, like you’re walking on eggshells, and fearful that something you do or say will result in them harming themselves in some way…or worse.
